Overview Marshall William Cronyn (1919-2007) grew up in Oregon, earned a BA in chemistry from Reed in 1940, and then a PhD in 1944 from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in organic chemistry, focusing on medicinal synthesis which continued as his primary research field throughout his career.
